Picnic Permit Forms & Rules
A Permit is required to use the Pavilion in the Town Park for birthdays, family reunions and all other events.

 

Marriage License
Each person applying for a marriage license must complete this form and show two forms of identification, original divorce papers or death certificates, if necessary.  Appointments for obtaining a marriage license is strongly encouraged.

 

Birth Certificate
This form must be completed to ensure that only those deemed valid by the NYS Department of Vital Records obtain this information. Certified Copies or Certified Transcripts of a Birth Certificate can only be issued to:
• A person with a NYS Court Order
• A person named on the Birth Certificate
• The parents of the person named on the Birth Certificate
• A lawful representative of the person named
• A lawful representative of the parents of person named Commissioner of Health
• A Municipal, State or Federal agency

 

Death Certificate
This form must be completed to ensure that only those deemed valid by the NYS Department of Vital Records obtain this information. Certified Copies or a Certified Transcript of a Death Certificate may be issued to:
• A person with a NYS Court Order
• A spouse, parent or child of the deceased
• A lawful representative of the spouse, parent or child of the deceased
• A person requiring record for a documented legal right or claim
• A person requiring record for a documented medical need
• A Municipal, State or Federal agency

 

Genealogy Information
Information may be released for genealogy research if the following requirements are met:
• Birth – the certificate has been on file for at least 75 yrs. and the person named on birth certificate is known by the applicant to be deceased
• Death – the certificate has been on file for at least 50 yrs
• Marriage – the certificate has been on file for at least 50 yrs. and the bride and groom are known by the applicant to be deceased.

 

Tax Collection Information
Tax bills are mailed at the end of December. There is no penalty for tax payments received by January 31st.
• 1% penalty if paid from Feb. 1st –Feb. 28th
• 2% penalty if paid from Mar. 1st – Mar. 31st
Taxes are turned over to the Genesee County Treasurer on April 1st. Tax payments made after March 31st must be paid at the Genesee County Treasurer’s office. For questions about Oakfield-Alabama Central School Taxes, please call the school at 585.948.5211.

 

Handicap Parking
This must be completed by the applicant and physician. Applicant must provide a valid driver’s license or NYS identification.

 

Small Claims Form
All pertinent information is provided in the handbook. File a small claim where the person whom you lay claim resides.

Freedom of Information Act – Should you seek information on specific subjects such as minutes, resolutions, etc., that are not readily available on our website.

 

STAR
School TAx Relief (STAR) Exemption. Basic STAR is for homeowners under the age of 65, and you only apply once. If you are turning 65, please contact the Assessor for an Enhanced STAR application. You may qualify for a greater reduction. STAR only applies to School Tax.

 

Building Permit Application
A Building Permit is required, and must be completed for all structural changes to home and property.

 

Zoning Permit & Certificate of Compliance
You cannot be issued a Building Permit without a Zoning Permit. Zoning Permits show the structure is allowed. View a copy of the Town of Oakfield Zoning Ordinance for more information.
